    Our shop was born during maternity leave - the kind with cold coffee, sleepless nights, and a baby who had very strong opinions about nap schedules. Somewhere between feedings and nappy changes, this little business came to life.

    As an interracial family ourselves, we wanted gifts and everyday items that actually reflected our lives - our conversations, our traditions, our inside jokes, our love stories. We couldn’t always find them… so we decided to make them.

    Named after the individual tiles ("tessera") that form a mosaic, the Tessera Project was born to celebrate interethnic relationships through the love language of gift-giving.

    This shop is for couples and families who blend cultures, backgrounds, and identities - and do it beautifully. It’s for households where multiple languages are spoken (sometimes all at once), where holidays are doubled, recipes are negotiated, and love is the common denominator. Our products are designed to celebrate that mix with pride, joy, and a wink of humour - because if you don’t laugh while navigating cultural differences, you’ll probably cry… and who has time for that?

    We’re a small, independent business run by a real human (hi!) with a big heart, a growing family, and a laptop that’s usually balanced next to a baby monitor. Every order means more than just a sale - it’s support for a dream, a family, and a whole lot of late-night work done while the rest of the house sleeps.
